I had a fondant mold for the knit cake I made for my Grannie’s birthday, so I thought that would be perfect for Christmas Sweater cookies. The knit is WAY larger than it should be for that size, but I love the texture on them.
I got a few stencils for fabric styles that I just had to try out. The argyle was the most difficult, as it takes two different stencils, so there is a longer dry time between use.
the stencils would work better with an airbrush – I’ll have to get one someday. But for now, royal icing will have to do.
It’s tricky getting the right consistency – you need it to be runny enough to go through a mesh stencil but not so running that the pattern bleeds when you pull it up.
