I wanted to do a whole series of musical instrument snacks, but haven’t managed to get around to all I want to try. I’ve managed to do a guitar and piano keys, so that’s a good start.
For this one, I cut out cardboard shapes for the three piano key shapes and then used them as templates for cutting out sugar cookie dough. Cookies often change shape when baking, so I had to use my microplane to level out all the edges so they would fit together. I planed them before adding the royal icing and after.
the black keys were the easy part – dark chocolate Kit-Kat bars worked perfectly!
Next time I’ll have to do a cake body for the piano.
