I wanted to try a cloth wrap around the waist, but had some issues with splitting and cracking with the polymer clay. I was also experimenting with blended colours, looking almost like a bark pattern. I didn’t want to remove and try again – the gold banding at the top turned out quiet well and I wasn’t sure if it would survive another pass through the pasta machine.
The pose turned out to be very challenging as the bending of the arms was tricky to get that far behind the head. I think I need to use thicker wire in the arms.
I had a few other choices for upper body wardrobe, but decided to go with body paint.
The bow is a little much – I think I’d try something else next time if I do a similar clothing design.
I am liking the brown/black with jewel highlight paint though. I think I’ll look for more variations of that kind of paint the next time I’m at Michaels.
